The 41st Fajr Int’l Theater Festival starts in Tehran.

The 41st edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival (FITF) has started in Tehran.

The opening ceremony was held on Saturday with presenting some awards and paying tribute to the late playwright Saeed Tashakkori and the late actor and director Ali Soleymani.

The capital city of Iran is hosting 12 plays on the first day of the 41st FITF.

As many as 23 troupes are scheduled to give performances at the international competition this year.

Foreign troupes from Brazil, Russia, Oman, Spain, Iraq, Armenia, Tunisia, and Jordan have taken part in the artistic event.

Also, the prestigious event is to host 40 domestic plays in the national competition.

The 41st edition of the FITF features a scientific section during which twenty papers from ten Muslim countries are slated to be presented on January 27 and 28.
